Post punk provocateurs The Pop Group have announced details of the release of their first album in 35 years. Zombie citizen will be released through Freaks R Us Monday 23 February, 2015.
The album, with the original members of Mark Stewart (lyrics / vocals), Dan Catsis (bass), Gareth Sager (guitar) and Bruce Smith (drums), was recorded in various places over the past two years and ended in late summer 2014 at Epworth study in Crouch End, London.
On working with Epworth, Mark Stewart commented: “From his work with the phone on, I’ve loved his work and think it’s one of the best producers in the world He gave us the freedom to create, with your help. The fate rides again for Pop Group “.

Mick Jagger has been the leader of the Rolling Stones for over 50 years, which may seem like a lifetime of work for anyone. But nearly two decades ago, somewhat below the radar, Jagger continued a second career – as a film producer based in Britain.
He and his producing partner Victoria Pearman founded Jagged Films and broke through in 2001 with the well-regarded thriller Enigma. Even then, they were working with the best: it was adapted for film from a novel by Robert Harris by Tom Stoppard, directed by Michael Apted and starring Kate Winslet.
It is true that some of the production of documentaries includes related Jagged Stones: Crossfire Hurricane, Shine A Light, directed by Martin Scorsese, and Kevin Macdonald Being Mick. But in 2008, Jagger and Pearman Women also produced a remake of the 1939 classic film by George Cukor, starring Meg Ryan and Annette Bening.
“I’m not really interested in the business of producing movies,” Jagger says, “but it is a necessary evil – you have to make deals, but not the literary part of it. – How the story unfolds, which will all the characters end up? But then, as Jagger says, “I woke up one morning and thought, ‘why not make a movie about James Brown, as well as a documentary’ ‘It was a crucial moment, Get On Up brought into being; clearly, Jagger has a keen eye for a business opportunity that is going to admit.
He reflects on this in a suite at Claridge’s, an opulent environment that is consummate ease. He wears a purple jacket over a white shirt unbuttoned immaculate cuffs, tight jeans and designer sneakers red. It’s a look at a less confident man would be trouble; at 71, Jagger does with indifference.

Having decided Brown’s life could become a feature too, Jagger began a search of previous attempts: “Of course, this is Hollywood, and had a failed characteristic attempt and had a script, I thought it would be. No good. I did with him. Probably he was 10 years old and had been sitting in a drawer. ”
What surprised him was the identity of the two writers – British brothers Jez and John-Henry Butterworth. The script skitters around, jumping back and forth between different periods of the life of Brown. It starts with one, amazing, raucous scene with a junkie Brown in 1988, wielding a gun and disrupting a convention of dentists being held in a building on your property.
That was just one scene that Brown (who died in 2006) was strongly opposed, complaining that portrayed him in a bad light. Hollywood producer Brian Grazer, after trying to get the film off the ground, gave up the struggle, and the loss of the rights to the music Brown. But he agreed to join Jagger in the resuscitation of the movie.
Therefore, it is fair to say Get on Up would not exist but for Jagger.
